Twelve pieces for solo bass clarinet, recorded in Berlin between October 2025 and April 2026. BCDeluxe is the latest in the series of solo albums that Loveland has been quietly building over the last few years, following Mark Turner's We Raise Them To Lift Their Heads, Palle Mikkelborg's Light, and Thomas Morgan's Around You Is A Forest. One instrument, one player, nowhere to hide.

Andrew D'Angelo was raised in Seattle, where he formed the friendships with Chris Speed and Jim Black that would shape the next four decades of his playing. He moved to New York in 1986, reconnected with the two of them in Boston, and together with guitarist Kurt Rosenwinkel formed Human Feel, one of the central incubators of new jazz through the 1990s. When the group relocated to Brooklyn in the early part of that decade they were absorbed almost immediately into the downtown scene, becoming sidemen of choice for a long list of players. D'Angelo has since worked with Erik Friedlander, Bobby Previte, Jamie Saft, Cuong Vu, and Matt Wilson, and led his own Tyft, Morthana, and DNA Orchestra.

As a composer he has built a personal language rooted in jazz but drawing on electroacoustic music, noise, and modern classical writing, with work for big band, chamber groups, string orchestra, and soloists. That breadth is what makes a solo bass clarinet record from him something other than a technical exercise. The NYC Jazz Record has described his playing as deeply felt, at times anarchic, at times fragile and haunting, and all of those registers are available to a single unaccompanied horn.

Issued by Loveland as a limited edition LP.
