Discographisme maison / Homemade record sleeves is a project collecting and assembling a series of record sleeves. They were all reworked and customized by unknown artists who used the original cover as a support or a source of inspiration... This collection echoes an intimate, marginal and overlooked experience, which can be replaced in the history of iconography and pop music.
The project features numerous and unexpected graphic design inputs : from faint or unfinished scribbles, to sloppy blacked-outs sections or completed creations with a relative "artistic intentionality". There are as many traces of attachment or transgression when it comes to "models": between mockery and nonsense, outrageous outbursts and blurred occurrences, deletions and artistic enlightenment, personal messages, declarations of love or rejection...
These amateur images could be regarded as a minor and meaningless practice. Yet, they express genuine moments, adventurous visual experiences oscillating between creation, iconoclasm, an irrepressible force where the manifestation of a collective unconscious is revealed in all its glory.
