This is an unreleased and “lost” new album by Deison and Mingle conceived in 2014 /15 right after the recording and the release of their debut collaboration-album "Everything Collapse[d]". After the passing of Andrea Gastaldello (“Mingle”) in 2021 and founding these forgotten tracks led us to think that this work should have been listened to understand the essence of the original album. Published by a co-production of three label who have released various works by the duo in the past (Loud!, Final Muzik and St.An.Da.), the work has been mastered by Eraldo Bernocchi in 2025.
From the CD liner notes: “A few months after making our first album together, ("Everything Collapse[d]", Aagoo records, 2014) Andrea proposed to me the idea of re-interpreting the pieces by stripping them of all the superfluous to leave only the "melodic" skeleton. A sort of reinterpretation of the album for solo piano and electronics. As usual, our fluent, spontaneous, and immediate way of working together led us to complete the work in a short amount of time and to plan a publication. The album was never published because at the same time we accumulated new material that was going to constitute the second chapter of our precious collaboration.Andrea has always been enthusiastic about these pieces which represent his musical ability and sensitivity. Through process of making records together with him, I've discovered a composer of the highest level, particularly enthusiastic about experimenting with me new musical ways, who advised me and inspired new ideas; for this I thank him and I dedicate this album to him.” - Deison, 2025
“Everything Collapse[d] - Piano Versions” is a perfect union of our two sounds: drones, field recordings and processed loops intermingled with melancholy harmonies and piano chimes. A gloomy and dirty electronic sound that turns into an extremely evocative score which is full of pathos. A more ethereal, almost meditative release, playing with shifting textures and minimal tones.
