Charles Hayward, GOL

(mint LP in generic innersleeve - original printed innersleeve with minimal storage yellowing is also included) ** Edition limited to 350 copies. ** Gol & Charles Hayward is a singular document of cross-generational, cross-channel collaboration. GOL, a French experimental ensemble active since the 1990s, here joins forces with Charles Hayward, the legendary drummer and founding member of This Heat, whose influence on post-punk, industrial, and avant-rock is immeasurable. The album is a suite of improvisations where Hayward’s propulsive, polyrhythmic drumming meets GOL’s arsenal of electronics, prepared instruments, and unconventional sound sources. The result is music that is both ritualistic and futuristic, echoing the spirit of Can, Faust, and the more adventurous moments of Sonic Youth. Gol & Charles Hayward is a testament to the enduring power of improvisation and the possibilities that emerge when pioneers from different scenes come together. For fans of This Heat, Art Bears, and the European experimental tradition, this LP is indispensable.

The very minimal sleeve features a four color reversible double front side with sinister photo portraits of Charles Hayward and the GOL members. Black and white inner sleeve with title tracks and liner notes.
