A few weeks ago I hit up this resale shop I haven't been to before. Serious junk store.. stuff piled up everywhere, I had to lay on a pile of Christmas wreaths just to dig through some of the records. Anyway... I get to the electronics room. Ironically enough it has no lights... I start looking with the flashlight from my phone. Mountains of wires and junk and speakers and modems. I see this metal box laying randomly under a bunch of wires, I pull it out thinking it's probably some old telephone switch thing... then I see handwritten, VCO, noise, filter... I'm like no way! I just found a homemade synth!!!

This thing is covered in grime... Assume made in the 70's or early 80's. It's just gnarly... I think this is too good to be true... No way it's gonna work... It feels so light I assume it's probably just the knobs and wires and has been gutted many many years ago. I also find an old Oscillator, a handheld reel to reel recorder, and a nice solid gun case that fits the synth perfectly. I take em up to the guy and ask "how much?" He says.. How about $15. What?! Sold!!!!

So we are driving back and I'm thinking out loud that even if it's just the case it still looks great and maybe I will display it in my shop. I get home, unscrew the top and there is all the electronics right there!!! I plug it in...it works! It's raw but works! I cleaned up the knobs and switches and it's working good enough for me to use for sure! From the chip that was used Twig seems to think it's a "Thomas Henry Super Controller" that someone built. Check the pic. Anyway.. This is my first recordings made using that synth and two tape machines. Very minimal. Lots of noise.
