Written by Italian music critic Aldo Chimenti in close collaboration with Douglas P., Hidden Among the Runes chronicles the epic journey of Death In June starting from the punk beginnings in Crisis and covering its entire history up until 2023's Operation Control, offering a wealth of anecdotes and insights along the way. The book also features a huge array of black-and-white and color photographs, drawn largely from Douglas P.'s personal archives and including some never-before-seen images.
Hidden Among the Runes is the new, updated edition of a book first published in Italian by Tsunami Edizioni in 2010 as Nascosto tra le rune, a numbered edition of 1,000 copies with a bonus CD, and translated into French by Camion Blanc in 2012. The story starts in London, where Douglas P. formed Death In June in 1981 with Tony Wakeford and Patrick Leagas after the end of Crisis, and follows the group through four decades of records, line-up changes, collaborations and controversy. Where the first edition stopped in 2010, this one carries the narrative thirteen years further.
The book will be a 16x23cm softcover binding with French flaps, will count 468 b/w + 48 full color pages.
