Deluxe 88 pages offset printed CMYK, sewn-glued binding, and folded flaps cover Following the first issue, Nothing Personal, which sold out in a matter of weeks, Lasse Marhaug returns with the second installment of 8090 VÅG, his annual, highly personal magazine devoted to sound and the people who make it. Subtitled No Idea of North, the new issue gathers long, in-depth interviews with Knurl, Matmos, Anja Lauvdal, Kjell Bjørgeengen and Runhild Gammelsæter, conducted in the informal, unhurried tone that has always marked Marhaug's work as an interviewer.

At the heart of the issue sits a long piece in which Marhaug writes about his love for Japanese noise CD compilations, a largely forgotten chapter in the development of the genre, accompanied by interviews on the subject with Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan), Hiroshi Hasegawa (C.C.C.C., Astro), Mason Jones and T. Mikawa (Incapacitants).

8090 VÅG is the successor to Personal Best, the interview-based zine Marhaug published through Marhaug Forlag across ten issues between 2011 and 2024. It keeps that dedication to the long-form interview, adds written pieces, carries no ads, and gives much more room to Marhaug's photography, shot around his home in the Arctic, which runs through the whole volume. As with everything he publishes, it is written, photographed and designed entirely by him, and it exists only on paper: there is no digital edition.
