Lasse Marhaug, born in 1974, is a Norwegian musician who has worked mainly in noise since the early 1990s but drifts freely into improvisation, jazz, rock and extreme metal. He has appeared as performer or composer on more than two hundred releases on CD, vinyl and cassette, tours constantly and collaborates with almost everyone: Jazkamer with John Hegre, duos with Merzbow and Kevin Drumm, records with Jenny Hval, Maja Ratkje and Ken Vandermark. He has also written music for theatre, dance, installations and video art, runs the Pica Disk label from Oslo and designs the covers of a good part of the Norwegian underground.
