Not Assisi but the Pauline Fathers, the other great Catholic media operation of postwar Italy, whose Edizioni Paoline label issued this LP by the "Troubadours of the Youth Centre for Religious Research," a group name that could only exist in Italy in 1970. Lui ha pagato per noi ("He Paid for Us") is a beat-folk passion, guitars and voices and organ, in the idiom the Messa Alleluia had made acceptable.
Paoline pressings are as scarce as the PCC ones and less collected, which makes this an opportunity. Original, SI series.
