2025 Stock. Antwerp-based synthesist David Edren presents Relativiteit Van de Omgeving, a twelve-track electronic suite investigating the intersection of temporal perception and environmental awareness. Conceived during 2020's extended isolation, the work emerged from multi-year compositional processes spanning 2018-2021, culminating in recordings at LittleForest studio.

Edren's approach centers on what he terms "hidden rhythms" - cyclical processes that operate beyond immediate human perception yet fundamentally structure experience. Through electronic synthesis, he constructs sonic environments that mirror planetary systems: water cycles, wind patterns, seasonal transitions, and biological regeneration. Each track functions as contained ecosystem while contributing to larger architectural investigation. Relativiteit Van de Omgeving translates as "Relativity of Environment," positioning perception itself as variable rather than constant. Edren's compositions suggest that temporal experience shifts according to contextual factors - physical surroundings, atmospheric conditions, biological states. The album's twelve sections trace interconnected environments from terrestrial landscapes to cosmic phenomena, treating electronic sound as material for constructing perceptual space.

The work avoids conventional ambient categorization through its structural complexity and conceptual rigor. Rather than providing background atmosphere, these compositions demand active listening engagement, revealing layered relationships between synthetic textures and implied natural processes. Edren describes his method as "skating the thin ice of ideas," suggesting compositions that balance systematic organization with intuitive exploration.

Recorded at LittleForest and mastered by Alex Nagle, with layout by Jozefien Gruyaert, the album represents collaborative investigation into electronic music's capacity for environmental modeling. Through careful attention to acoustic space and temporal unfolding, David Edren creates works that function simultaneously as sonic architecture and philosophical proposition regarding humanity's relationship to surrounding systems.
