*230 copies limited edition* ILIOS’s published body of works has often been associated with compositions based on sound environments that involve mainly human or machine activity. From the praised “Kenrimomo” released on PAN and based on the Japanese Pachinko game lounges, to “L’Hydre de Lerne” (Entr’Acte) based on construction sites, “Hysechasterion” (Antifrost) out of the monasteries in Mount Athos, “Teleregaraj Hundoj” (Musikzimmer) based on Radio controlled cars and the long list goes on. In 2013 ILIOS was invited to explore one of the longest continuously running bell foundries in the world: the Rüetschi foundry in Aarau, Switzerland producing bells for the past 655 years (est.1367). During the stay, hours of machines and human labour to build a bell were recorded. Shelved for a few years, the compositions had grown an own soul. Consequently, additional elements recorded in Manila, Philippines and Delphi, Greece were added to better narrate the so called Tale of the Rüetschi foundry.
