*200 copies limited edition* The music on ‘Remanens’ is the result of a commission by Art Cinema OFF off and B.A.A.D.M to score the short silent film ‘Positano’ made by french actor and filmmaker Pierre Clémenti in 1969. The film itself is an ever-shifting series of glimpses, without much context, of a family vacation to the island Positano. The short cuts are similar to a dream or obscured, residual memories where chronology has fallen apart. The score was reworked into album format on ‘Remane…
Like The Dyer's Hand / Foujita
This album features two film scores by Satoshi Satō. Scooping Water, the Moon in Hand is a documentary film tracing the life of legendary poet and Chinese literary scholar Ye Jiaying (1924–). It won the Best Documentary Award at the 33rd China Golden Rooster Awards (2020), often referred to as China's Academy Awards. Ye Jiaying is also a scholar of Du Fu, and Satō Sōmei set Du Fu's poem “Eight Poems on Autumn Feelings” to music at the request of the film director. Director Oguri Kōhei's Foujita …
Spellbound!
Lydia Kavina plays theremin works with Ensemble Sospeso: first recordings of music by Howard Shore, Olga Neuwirth, Christian Wolff and Percy Grainger, and Miklós Rózsa's chamber version of Spellbound, premiered at Lincoln Center in 2000.
