There’s not much in the way of documentation on the Early Danish Electronic Music scene other than the Else-Marie Pade, Jørgen Plaetner, and Gunner-Möller Pedersen discs on DaCapo - all fantastic sets full of wonder, but mired in a certain air of government-funded academia (i.e. Men / Women in lab-coats working in sterile studios; having to demonstrate their yield / progress in regular / weekly iterations to secure further funding; being afraid to take it finally and fully out). This item should…
1969 plunderphonic / Musique Concrète epic from Luis De Pablo, a Madrid-based Composer working out of his own home-studio - referred to in the Hugh Davies catalogue as simply “Madrid (Luis De Pablo.)” I’ve seen a few different versions of this record - various European pressings; this Creel Pone replicates the Spanish Clave and German Polydor editions - it’s even rumored that each pressing contains a different version of the piece (!?) along with their different Psychedelic artworks.Music…
Pietro Grossi was one of the pioneers of the experimental musical scene in Italy. This CD shows one of his visionary electronic works: "Battimenti", an electronic work composed and realized in 1965, made by the 94 combinations of near frequencies, organized in groups of 2, 3, 4 and 5 sine waves. This coupling originates the "harmonic beatings", overtones born out of the intersection of frequencies. Originally thought by Grossi has a "working material" for his famou…
This is volume 2 of Omega Point's Obscure Tape Music of Japan series. Hitomi-Za is an experimental puppet theater group that still exists today in Japan. This recorded performance took place from February 13-17th in 1962 at Sogetsu Kaikan Hall. The program consisted of three parts, and Joji Yuasa, Kuniharu Akiyama and Naozumi Yamamoto composed background sound for each part. This CD consists of two works made from magnetic tape from among the performances. This is the world premiere release of b…
Beautiful, floating-above-Earth photos from a Nasa space mission adorn this sharp looking digi-pak from Nepless, an Italian label bent on reissuing some of the most lovely of the long lost electro-acoustic pieces. Edgardo Canton was a member of the GRM from 1959 to 1965, and an independent composer who worked there until 1973. This CD collects three of his principal works from the 1960s and another from 1984. “Animal Animal” (1962) is comprised of very quiet and empty deep space floatation produ…
