Following the contemplative explorations of previous works in the series and hot on the heels of the beautiful Cosmos from E Ruscha, Stella Z's "Figs" emerges as a delicate meditation on growth, patience, and the hidden life of fruit. Recorded in London yet deeply inspired by distant memories from China, the album is a musical documentary that explores the fig—a plant with a profound personal significance to Stella. "The fig tree was the big, generous presence in our old home, feeding my family …
Water Witches is an immersive box set that gathers the early, shadowy works of Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, Dominick Fernow’s most enigmatic project. Remastered by Paul Corley, it offers over five hours of haunted ambient and drone, conjuring dense, hallucinatory soundscapes that blur the line between ritual and environment. A definitive grimoire for those drawn to acousmatic magick and deep listening.
Mannequin Records reissues "My Government Is My Soul", a searing 1989 statement from Bourbonese Qualk, one of the UK’s most defiant and politically engaged experimental acts. Originally released on the group’s own label, this LP captures the uncompromising spirit of a band deeply embedded in the resistance movements of 1980s Britain. Recorded during a turbulent period of social unrest, "My Government Is My Soul" stands as a fierce response to authoritarianism, surveillance, and the neoliberal de…

1992 release ** "Greinke and Angus met at Penn State where they started composing and performing together. In 1982 they moved to Seattle and began playing in clubs and festivals, working with a variety of musicians in various bands and projects. Their work as a duo was documented on the classic album Crossing Ngoli (Ear-Rational, 1992)."
1995 release ** "Trance Mission creates powerful electro-tribal ambience with a variety of standard, traditional, and eclectic devices. Meanwhile, their second CD, is a collection of tribal atmospheres forged with respect and passion. Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby, Beth Custer, and John Loose are constantly on the same page. They impact the respect and reflect the passion. It is all done with varying degrees of urgency. Kent's didg creates the drone from which Newby's atmospheres arise. Custer's r…
1994 release ** "Tuu is one of those bands that manages to straddle the seemingly disparate worlds of traditional ethnic music and ambient electronica, somewhat the same way that African Head Charge and Mouth Music do, but with very different results. In this case, the interactions between synthesist Mykl O'Dempsey, exotic percussionist Martin Franklin, and flutist Rebecca Lublinski (who spends most of her time on either the bansuri or the Chinese flute) result in a music that is dark and strang…
Since the release of Ammar 808's debut »Maghreb United«(2018) – a rumbling pan-North African electronic classic – the Tunisian producer has been in the vanguard of artists navigating the intersection of traditional and contemporary sonics.
His deep-rooted, room-shaking 3rd album »Club Tounsi« isn’t just a powerful statement of his Tunisian identity. It’s also a joyous celebration of the dancefloor, blending Mezoued rhythms and instrumentation with an impossibly infectious blast of bass-heavy fut…
1994 release ** "Voice Of Eye have a strangely unique sound. They manage to combine Ambient beauty with dark mystery and make the two seem like natural bedfellows. I guess that's the true image of what Gothic should be - angelic choruses sung in deep, cavernous cathedrals which might just have been naturally-formed caves - visions of holiness which might just concentrate too obsessively on the kind of things one might encounter posthumously if one doesn't live a 'Good Christian' life - demons, S…
1994 release ** "37 Strange (and not so strange) ethnic rhythms, chants and musical pieces sampled, repeated, distorted or transformed in nightmarish landscapes... it's not new age effect, this scares...."
1998 release ** CD in a card sleeve held in an A5 wraparound card folder. "Mathias Grassow is a decidedly diverse performer. Most of his solo recordings fall into the electronic minimalist style. On many of his collaborations, he goes to the tribal ambient style. On Namakar, he takes that route solo. This is a set of deep tribal minimalism. Grassow augments his signature synth drones with incessant didgeridoo drones. He surrounds those drones with some gentle synthesizer atmospheres and melodies…
1999 release ** Packaged in an oversized A5 folded paper sleeve with a plastic cover. "An ambient hybrid of traditional Indonesian soundscapes and electronics."
1993 release ** "In Search Of Sanity is dedicated to the spirit of the Slieve League cliffs and the famine village of Port in County Donegal/ireland. As these compositions are also tales about searching sanity by the way of lonelyness and hermitage I made the work in silent honour of the monks of Skellog Michael. All sounds are composed, played, arranged and recorded by Mathias Grassow between 1992 and 1993, except "Conjuration" and "Troubles", wich are composed and played by mathias Grassow and…

2002 release ** "Two spirits, one sound: making music that moves. Moving onwards, in the open, invisible fields. Moving towards their own souls. Creating his personal path into the pure and mystical depths of pre-hispanic richness, Mexican musician Reyes encounters Dutch sound-sculptor Blauw, who makes use of digital communication tools to pave the way for vulnerable, powerful and everlasting nudity. This joint-adventure erases virtual differences between the old and the new, between wholesome a…
1992 release ** "Since 1975, David Parsons has made numerous trips to India to absorb the culture, study the music, and record performances by indigenous artists. In addition to producing three albums of Tibetan ritual music, in the Sacred Ceremonies: Ritual Music of Tibetan Buddhism series, the composer and synthesist has translated the essence of his journeys into the lush, yet, profound soundscapes of Himalaya and Yatra, two critically acclaimed albums of original music. Dorje Ling, was inspi…
