Gabriele Gasparotti’s second full length album, Tropismi, is a collection of mesmerizing compositions with masterful polyrhythmical textures and harmonies, strings, prepared piano, magnetic tape and field recordings. Gasparotti's unique style uses classical composition techniques such as counterpoint, canone inverso and serialism to create morphing expanding harmonies continuously. Tropismi features stunning cellotronics by Benedetta Dazzi, cellist and sound designer with which Gasparotti establ…
‘Murals For Immersion’ is Kenneth James Gibson’s 6th ambient outing under his given name, this time around collaborating with saxophonist Paul Carman who played and recorded with Frank Zappa in what Zappa called The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life. In late 2022, Gibson and Carman started getting together at Gibson’s Idyllwild studio, laying down tons of Saxophone sounds - layers of drones, melody lines, and off kilter noises. Gibson processed, sculpted, and arranged these sounds into full…
*100 copies limited edition* Tsss Tapes presents Slani pejzaži by the trio formed by Manja Ristic (Serbia), Joana Guerra (Portugal) and Verónica Cerrotta (Argentina).
New collaboration between DressingDressingDressing. Mysterious murky tape music akin to Hands To, Yeast Culture, early Small Cruel Party, etc. Jasu Jest is their debut release and presents a seamless blend of styles and sounds from each, e.g. broken textural tape noise, magnetic wobble, faint buried melodies, fragments of distant voices and incidental sounds, and obscured domestic and field recordings. An incredibly accomplished first statement from what will hopefully be a long and fruitful col…
*300 copies limited edition.* An Island Is An Island is a correspondence musical project of two respectable islanders, Michael Morley (of The Dead C, based on Te Wai Pounamu / South Island, New Zealand) and Joachim Nordwall (Ideal Records, Island of Brännö, Sweden). Two tracks touching the 40 minutes mark are as unique as it can get, magical and just sort of hard to define folktale of hypnagogic dream landscapes full of haunting micro tones and fragments of cursed melodies. While listening to this…
*300 copies limited edition* Coming on top of a decade-long sonic exploration of the potentialities of the guitar as a pure sound generator, the performance for solo guitar and objects 'Sacred Habits' is the most recent solo project by Modena-based composer and musician Luca Perciballi (whom the most devoted listeners of Kohlhaas catalog may recall playing electric and acoustic guitar in Alessandro Bosetti’s album 'Didone').In Perciballi’s performance the gestures and signs of the body are assem…
KMRU's debut album for Touch. Armed with a handheld recorder and a reverence for environmental sounds, the Kenyan artist is carving out a unique place in electronic music.
The long running vessel for Cameron Stallones' psychedelic excursions, Sun Araw, returns to Discrepant after last year's split with Tarzana via Keroxen sister label (KRXN033). Without much precedent in his own - already wide-ranging - back-catalog, 'Cetacean Sensation' discards the dubby vibes, psych-rock sunburnt jams, tropical visions, or stalking sensibilities of such classic efforts as 'On Patrol' or 'Ancient Romans' towards a deeply focused and vivid solitary approach, while still retaining…
2024 stock. Absolutely riveting reissue of this classic French underground album from 1976, appearing for the first time on CD. "Pole is the first and only co-operation, where both were working as musicians, between Jean Louis Rizet and Philippe Besombes. This double album, recorded in 1976, shows a more serious side of the artists, with a leaning toward contemporary classical music that shows their interest in electronic and electro-acoustic ideas; reminiscent of Faust at times, but also close …

His artistic prowess extends beyond the sonic realm, encompassing an impeccable sense of design and a deep appreciation for materials. Nakajima's creative journey began in 1980, but it wasn't until the early '90s, prompted by a request to compose music for an art installation involving water, that he stepped into the forefront. Thi…

*50 copies limited edition* Pieces of debris washed up on a coastline shrouded in mist. Gratification comes from an eternal search for solace. Locked away at the top of a lighthouse somewhere on an unnamed isle, Grady Steele broadcasts to those within the beacon’s reach. A soundsystem built of driftwood and salvaged car stereos is pieced together with precision and laboriously dragged to the top of the obelisk. A timeless fugue state spent playing arpeggios on a Spanish guitar, the PA system ebb…
Big Tip! Tidal Perspectives is an album by Giovanni Di Domenico, Pak Yan Lau, and John Also Bennett. Recorded across a single afternoon in Brussels, Belgium, the album’s four parts are a rippling alchemy of processed Rhodes piano, sizzling ceramics, and liquified bass flute, a rare meeting of three unique voices from the contemporary music landscape that manages to flow with the depth and effortless inevitability of the oceanic tides.
Giovanni Di Domenico, an accomplished composer and prolific …

“Movement” is a work based on various piano sketches by Kenneth Kirschner, which Orphax edited, added synthesizer and organ, and mixed. The title “Movement” for this work comes with the idea that the music is continuously moving and never really stands still. It is also a reference to classical music, where a composition can be built up from different movements. This work has something similar, and consists of 5 different movements coming from multiple piano sketches (often combined).
Gareth Davis returns to Moving Furniture Records with a new collaboration. This time together with Monika Buganjy they perform his composition Becoming.
This work is grounded in early minimalist aesthetics of composers like La Monte Young and Phill Niblock, but also shares the sensibilities of contemporary artists like Duane Pitre, Sarah Davachi, Brian Eno and Ellen Arkbro.

Inspired by witnessing the broken tension and renewed possibilities of a laptop breaking down at a gig – not to mention the void left behind by the sudden end of a relationship – Pentu’s latest release is a jump-cut menagerie of musical moments. Sewn together into ‘And I Saw My Devil And I Saw My Deep Blue Sea’, these fifteen tracks continue the London-based producer’s active departure from the soundscapes and song structures that dominated their previous writing style. These disparate pieces sl…
