Modfase
*100 copies limited edition* Crumbling tape loops, broken glass sounds, micro-cassette feedback and songs for piano, voice and guitar sit side by side on this uniquely tender release by Danish artist Franciska. Submitted to the label on a cassette sent via mail with typewritten credits, 'Modfase' is masterfully restrained, constructed with a care and gentleness that's hard to find in today's "ambient" and "experimental" music circles. Each side contains multiple pieces which quickly shift betwee…

Les Cités Englouties
*2024 stock* Laure Boer is Kashual again. And not so Plastik. Zoning dark-ish into her inner realms of journey music. Poetic, psychic, reflective, ejective. She sings. Weeps. Speaks. Intimate looping narratives, celebrating personal glories and all those worries. Stylistically alternating from electroacoustic dimensions to drone guitar amp personas, from folk melodiousness to witchy avant-notes. Ten drifters for the Lomaxed creatures, earthbound, and always up there in the luminaries. Music that…
Not Quite a Trio
Rory Salter is a musician, artist and technician living in London. He has released albums under various projects with Alter, TakuRoku, Infant Tree, Teeth, MAL, Bison, Kashual Plastik and more. His music is formed through experimentations with acoustic & electronic instruments, faulty technologies, cassette tape, feedback and voice; motivated by a relationship to changing and chaotic environments, objects and walking. Ecka Mordecai is a British artist based in London. Situated between sonic, perf…
Cielomoto
*50 copies limited edition* Although we play other instruments, this recording is focused on the sounds of electric guitar and saxophone. We are inspired by silence, the phenomena that break it and their effects and in cosmic and natural drifts as well. Vision plays a fundamental role. Together, we understand sound as the result of our relationship and our way of building and destroying. The result is a story that becomes a future visual story, because when we play, we see.
Punkanachrock
Huge Tip! This is a limited edition 2x7" edition of a wildly experimental and unique gem from 1981 (originally released on Japan's Pinakotheca). Spread over two records packaged in a bubble wrap outer sleeve - , the set features unreleased full length takes and unheard material from the band's master cassettes. All transferred and mastered with the blessing of the original musicians. The release features heavy involvement from Morioka based musician, Onnyk (key member of the near mythical The Fi…
Dorothea
*2023 stock* Usual to a thousand and one shindigs in the most exploratory field of music, Àlex Reviriego has left his usual double bass and has delved into the possibilities of the acoustic guitar. The shadows of feedback generate ghosts that in turn are spirits. The image of Dorothea of Cappadocia also has its shadows. Is it really her or Saint Lucia whom Giacomo Gestaro wanted to paint? Tiago Pina, responsible for the design of the k7, has ended up adding a new shadow to the image.

Elements
Tip! Surface World is pleased to share David Lee Myers (aka Arcane Device) and Toshimaru Nakamura’s Elements, a remote collection written and assembled in tandem at the suggestion of the label. Sharing an idiosyncratic approach to feedback-based sound generation and a commitment to their signature instruments (respectively, the Feedback Machine and the No-Input Mixing Board), the pairing lands during an especially fruitful period in their individual discographies. Harmonically dense, energetic a…
Smelt
Bent Window presents Tim Olive's new release "Smelt", a buzzing conveyance of sound manipulation made from the leftovers of our mechanical world. Hum, crash and crackle combine for a unique journey into electronic disaster. Magnetic pickups, analog electronics, radio signals and consumer detritus (springs, styrofoam, metal sheets, motors, magnetic tape, wood, dental floss) to generate sound-textures which evolve, shift and mutate. Born in Canada, currently residing in Kobe, his discography inclu…
Blasco / Vítková / Anette
On this album Lucie Vítková and Merche Blasco explore cyborgness through their relationships with their instruments. Lucie perceives the accordion as an extension of their body - sound, matter, and movement locked in a self-generating cybernetic loop. Merche built Anette, a 3D printer, as her interlocutor and companion in the performance space; in return, Anette printed thimble-microphones Merche wears on her fingers, which render the machine's unique electromagnetic voice audible to human ears.…
Realness
Eternities is a collaboration between bass clarinetist Katie Porter (Utah) and sound artist Bob Bellerue (NYC). Their work is inspired by deep presence, resonant feedback, melodic drone, and overtone magic, in the fluid realm between intention and indeterminacy.  Katie Porter is a clarinetist and curator specializing in experimental music. Passionate about fostering musical communities, she co-founded Listen/Space in Brooklyn, the Listen/Space Commissions in the mountains of Utah, and the bienni…
The Operation Of The Sonne
The Dead C's trio of albums in the middle of their harsh '90s reality served for many as entry points to the band. Operation Of The Sonne, The White House, and Tusk received wider distribution than the band had ever seen before, and this was the first rays of them being considered amongst the most important rock bands of the 20th century. This trio of vinyl reissues capture their intensity and presence in a way that may even blow out the candle of the original pressings. Newly remastered by Lass…

Dressing
Dressing is the experimental noise project of Dublin based artist Kevin Kirwan. Active in visual arts for the past decade or so, Kirwan has recently begun recording noise using field recordings, found objects, feedback and tape manipulation. His noise is restrained and textural with occasional melodic undercurrents. He recently performed live as Dressing for the first time at the closing of Aleana Egan's exhibition 'Sampler' at Void Gallery, Derry. This CD is a reissue of two cassettes originall…

Choi Taehyun and Park Daham first started playing as a duo on May 14, 2013, and have been performing as a duo occasionally. I wish all my Taiwanese friends well.

Superpositions
*2022 stock. Limited edition of 100 copies.* Witness the common phenomenon of feedback such as produced inadvertently through poorly configured microphones and loudspeakers in public amplification situations: the sound coming from the speakers finds its way back into the microphones and produces an uncomfortable squealing sound. The component elements are electronic and acoustic, the latter involving air movement and vibration of physical objects. But internal electronic feedback is quite a curi…
