The International Nothing

The International Nothing is a clarinet duo formed in Berlin in 2000 by Kai Fagaschinski and Michael Thieke. The two compose their pieces together and build slow, layered sound sculptures from multiphonics, beating frequencies and difference tones, which has led them to describe the project as psychoacoustic. The duo has released its albums on the Japanese label Ftarri: Mainstream (2006), Less Action, Less Excitement, Less Everything (2010), The Dark Side Of Success (2014), In Doubt We Trust (2018) and Just None Of Those Things (2022).
