"Halki pilvien - transl. Trough the clouds - brings exactly what one expects from the clouds. It is a collection of soft and gentle movements, as playful as a ‘Jan Anderzén type of music’ is always. A collection of patterns that solidify for just a brief moment in time, before sublimating in the back of the mind. This album is in constant motion. Push play. A warped piano and cartoonish SFX’s might foretell a hyperreal approach to music. Yet while the champion of hyperrealism, Noah Creshevsky, d…

“Padre, fammi partire!” (Father, make me leave!). Franco Battiato, orphan of a father, sings this verse in "Da Orienta a Occidente". He declaims it solemnly and decisively. More than a request for a blessing, it is a declaration of intent. The force with which this prayer is recited admits of no weakness, no compromise and no obstacle. To leave is necessary. The volcano is there, showing the way. The power of this phrase reflects the impatience of a hawk that, tied to the arm of its falconer, wa…

Fanaticus is the new full length album from Organ Of Corti, the trio of Dan Johansson (Sewer Election), Mattias Gustafsson (Altar of Flies), and Joachim Nordwall (iDEAL, The Skull Defekts). A significant evolution from 2022's Auris, also released on New Forces, Fanaticus blends tape loops and analog synths into a claustrophobic exhibition of tense and curious sound. Each of these seven tracks has a depth to it that demands repeated listening. Fanaticus deftly weaves together the subtle nuances o…

Written in three parts, the piece is an instinctive approach to the sound spectrum (the t…
* Limited edition of 100 copies, gold etched title on front cover. * Last year, Holidays delivered “Ad Invisibilia”, their first LP working with the composer Andrea Penso. Thomas Barrière developed this album during the last ten years. Much has happened during the decade between "Primaire", his first solo album released in 2014 on Thödol and "Alkebulan". During this period, he travelled across the world several times with Trottola Circus, he formed the band Algecow with his cohort Bastien Pelenc, he composed a bunch of film soundtracks, and he became a father. And the world changed as well of course!! Thomas goes back to all forms of music that impressed him throu…
Lili Holland-Fricke and Sean Rogan’s debut album “dear alien” is a constellation of radiant improvised impulses, imagined in lucent fragments of cello, guitar and voice. Spacious, tender and glistening with rich electronic distortion, the record melds a spectrum of processed and natural sound as the artists invite listeners into their dreamlike world of synergetic introspections. Cultivated through a shared spirit of resourcefulness and play, “dear alien” emerges as an organic meeting place in t…
