*100 cpopies limited edition* Antipodes is Frédéric Acquaviva's thirty-fourth record, which continues his transgenre and super experimental exploration of the boundaries between music and sound art, as well as of the media themselves (this time, with a silk-screened QR-code record on a PVC sleeve from which his vinyl has been removed). Divided into three sequences dedicated to the three zones of a possible divine and very contemporary comedy (Hell / Purgatory / Paradise), Antipodes is Frédéric Acquaviva's third opera, after Aatie, 2011 and The Hot Opera, 2015), composed in part during a residency in the legendary electronic music studios of EMS in Stockholm, with sound recordings in Berlin and London.
Following his collaborations with Pierre Guyotat (Coma, 1996), F.J. Ossang (K. Requiem, 1999), Jean-Luc Parant (Musique Acataleptique, 2007), Frédéric Acquaviva integrates and disintegrates in his sound universe the texts and voice of the extraordinary artist, poet and performer Joël Hubaut, mixed with that of an unexpected speaker (the artist Dorothy Iannone) and of the exceptional British mezzo-soprano Loré Lixenberg with whom Acquaviva has been pursuing a unique collaboration for a decade.
