First volume in a hopefully never-ending series set on liberating unheard early electronic music gems from obscurity ... these all come as full-color printed mini-cdrs housed in mini jewel cases with a full-color insert (front) with stills from the films in question and recording details (back), all housed in a zip-seal banded baggie. these recordings have been professionally cleaned up to remove unwanted artifacts ; sound qualities range based on the source (either 8mm/16mm prints from the sbs archives in melbourne, or vhs copies of said prints). This volume features pierre boulez's only concréte piece, an rather amazing gershon kingsley computer-funk bomb, the only recorded realization of percy grainger's 'free music', an interlude to a film about glass blowing by tom dissevelt, and and joan labarbara's score to one of doris chase's experimental dance videos.
