J3 sEUQCAJ and S3 eVETS were à;GRUMH... from 1981 to 1991. They later continued as nEGAPADRES.3.3. from 2000 onwards. But the first album of nEGAPADRES.3.3. is now considered to be Rebearth, released under the name à;GRUMH... in gothic fonts in 1985, then followed by the album Verses on Circle Records in 1988, then by two albums Exstrophy of Amphigouris and La Phobie du Cheval both on the French label Hermétique Records. Binche is the fifth album from nEGAPADRES.3.3. and was entirely made on an old computer based on samples, recordings and generated sounds and instruments.

The theme of this album is the music from The Gilles, a type of folklore figure in the region of Binche and La Louvière, Western Wallonia, the French speaking part of Belgium. It all goes on from a month before Mardi Gras until Easter in every little town from that area. The Gilles have a very coloured costume stuffed with hay, bells and wooden shoes, masks, giant hats with ostrich feathers, they walk in groups and dance around and throw oranges to the audience. They are always accompanied by marching bands based on drums and horns, very loud and often drunk. On this album, there is also a very special guest musician named John Ellis. He was the guitar player in punk band The Vibrators, but S3 first heard John when he played for Peter Gabriel (2nd album and the following tour) and on stage with Gabriel in Brussels in 1980. Following that, John played with Peter Hammil on tour in the '80's in Brussels and as a rock journalist, S3 asked to meet John for an interview. They became pals and stayed in touch. John later joined The Stranglers, released some solo projects and also rebooted The Vibrators. During conversations, S3 sent John one of the n33 albums and he got interested in the way we make industrial music, and then offered to add guitar parts to some of the tracks.
