"Blue Agents" is a mutant album at its very core. Capable of stitching broken rhythms and sudden mood swings into its skin, in the name of a post-punk that drew as much from the surrounding scene (Gaznevada, Confusional Quartet, etc.) as from an incredibly personal creative vision, fueled by a visual aesthetic rarely seen in Italy. To experience "Blue Agents" is to cross the threshold of interpretation on the television screen, to experiment with images and sounds within an expressive unity that may seem predictable and hackneyed today, but was unprecedented at the time. Synthetic monochromatic harmonies develop darkly amid acidic and sometimes epileptic vocals ("The Parallel Cat"), while the bass sustains the restless and sensual rhythm of songs with theatrical titles that seem to depict paradoxical scenes, small cuts to reality.
