We're far from the dark punk-wave atmospheres of their shocking and unrivaled debut, "Sick Soundtrack," but not entirely. Gaznevada, still produced by the brilliant Oderso Rubini, veered toward a more commercial sound with 1983's "Psicopatico Party" (many fans of their early career felt betrayed), without neglecting the demented schizophrenia of their lugubrious early works. "Psicopatico Party" can't be considered a minor album (as has often been perceived), since it would have been inappropriate for the Bologna-based band to continue the glories of the aforementioned "Sick Soundtrack," both for chronological reasons and the dramatic changes in sound during that period. The intertwining of all these themes and the greater overall variety makes the album still a compelling listen today.
