Frame left exactly one record, and Frame Of Mind (1972) has become a collector's quarry on the strength of it. This was the heavy, organ-driven wing of the German scene, nearer to the British prog of Procol Harum or the bludgeon of Vanilla Fudge than to anything cosmic: Cherry Hochdörfer's Hammond and Mellotron set against Andy Kirnberger's guitar, English-language vocals, a long brooding centerpiece about a lost love.
Produced by Dieter Dierks for the Frankfurt label Bacillus, it sold poorly and the quintet dissolved soon after. Time has been kinder than the market was at the time: clean originals now command real money. The Bacillus pressing.
