‘Get Ready’ by the Richard Last Group is one of the rarest LPs from the golden age of Italian progressive rock, originally released in a genre-changing 1972, both in Italy and internationally. Born in Milan in 1969 as Duu Duu, they became Richard Last Group two years later, when singer Maurizio Calò joined the line-up, later calling himself Richard Coley.
‘Get Ready’ is the only album released by the group, which, due to numerous line-up changes that also occurred during the recording of the album, had practically already disbanded in the autumn of 1972, and is one of those little hidden gems that hardly anyone talked about at the time, only resurfacing much later, towards the end of the 1990s. In addition to several remakes of songs by artists such as Jethro Tull, Donovan, Dave Mason (Traffic) and James Taylor, “Get Ready” also contains three original compositions by Maurizio Calò, who then continued his musical activity as a soloist. The album also features the presence of a then 16-year-old Walter Calloni, a drummer and percussionist who collaborated with many important names on the Italian pop/rock scene, as well as being part of PFM's official line-up in the 1980s.
Black vinyl edition faithful to the 1972 original, with 30x30cm insert.
