Philip Corner, a founding figure of Fluxus, has spent decades listening to the gong as a world in itself, letting each stroke bloom and decay at full length. Gong/Ear: Natura gathers two long performances, Orchard and Courtyard, each over half an hour, recorded on 31 March 1994 at Cavriago, near Reggio Emilia, the Italian city where Corner settled.
A short coda, Gong out of Bruckner, closes the disc. Published by Quiet World in an edition of 150 copies, in a poly wallet with a four-panel booklet and sleeve artwork by Ian Holloway.
