Philip Corner, born in New York in 1933, was a member of Fluxus from its beginnings and a co-founder of the ensemble Tone Roads, and his work has always moved freely between scores, performance and improvisation. Sang-Teh In Shanghai combines a graphic score with free playing, and the first disc presents a single performance given in the city, about sixty-five minutes long.
The second disc, titled Archive, adds a further forty-four minutes of related material. Issued in 2018 on two CDs by Where Is The Zeitgeist?, a small label based in Shanghai.
