Obviously, compared to the masterful version made for the original, this second vision of the film is less articulated and interesting, however, Trovajoli's training, which began his career with the violin, pervades the main theme structured mainly on the strings, supported by the winds, and on a very sweet and harmonious leitmotif, taken up later in other tracks, and that, in many ways, combines modernity with the original .

The mood of the CD is extremely romantic, enjoyable, with sounds that wink at the commercial, perhaps because the film was directed to the television audience and then to the general public. Some dramatic concessions alternate with the reiterated main theme and tracks 15 and 28, in which Sophia Loren, the protagonist of the film, plays a song first in English ("A word of love") and then in Italian ("Ma Dio addò sta").
This second edition of La ciociara is not unforgettable, but it brings an author like Trovajoli back to a bridge score, between past and present, respecting tradition and modernity.
