Piero Umiliani ran his own studio, Sound Work Shop, in Rome from 1969 and released his library work through a family of imprints (Omicron, Liuto, Telesound, Videovoice, Sound Work Shop itself) under a shifting set of aliases: Rovi, Moggi, Catamo, Zalla, Tusco. This third Lost & Found box gathers five of the ambient records from that catalogue, the long-form, drifting, synth-and-Rhodes work he did in the late seventies and early eighties when the commissions were drying up and he had a Sound Work Shop full of gear and nobody to answer to.

The word "ambient" is not anachronistic here; some of this predates or parallels Eno and is at least as good. Five LPs in a box with notes, from the Umiliani estate's own reissue programme. The Roman answer to Music for Airports, made in a private studio for nobody in particular.
