1994 first CD re-issue on GDM of one of Morricone's most experimental and psychedelic soundtracks for the 1971 film by Jerzy Kawalerowicz, coupled with the most traditional and evocative soundtrack for Alberto Bevilacqua's 1972 film.

Two 1971 scores on one GDM disc: Maddalena, Jerzy Kawalerowicz's film about a woman and a priest, whose main theme Chi Mai would later be a British number one via The Life and Times of David Lloyd George; and Questa specie d'amore, Alberto Bevilacqua's adaptation of his own novel. Ennio Morricone in his most lyrical early-seventies mode, Edda Dell'Orso's voice and the Come Maddalena theme that Edda's fans consider her finest hour.

GDM's Morricone CDs are well produced and now mostly out of print. This one is the key document in the Chi Mai story.
