LP version. Transversales Disques presents the first-ever LP reissue of Ennio Morricone's iconic score to Le Casse (The Burglars), Henri Verneuil's 1971 Franco-Italian heist classic starring Jean-Paul Belmondo and Omar Sharif. Conducted by Morricone's longtime collaborator Bruno Nicolai, this legendary soundtrack is a masterpiece of 70s European crime cinema, seamlessly blending high-action grooves, chic lounge jazz, lush Italian romanticism, and the delicate vocalizations of Edda Dell'Orso. Featuring one of the maestro's most celebrated main themes, this ultimate edition also includes two rare 7-inch tracks recorded by Astrud Gilberto with Morricone and his orchestra.
Side A gathers the main cues of the film, from the opening Le Casse (Générique) and the Thème d'amour to Rodéo, Virage dangereux and Ma non troppo erotico, closing with an alternative version of the title theme. Side B opens with the two Astrud Gilberto songs, Una donna che ti ama (lyrics by Audrey Nohra Stainton) and Argomenti (lyrics by Franca Evangelisti), followed by Ciao Mantovani, À Carlo S., A Melachrino, Pour Zacharia and an alternative take of Rodéo. Audio restored and remastered, with exclusive and extensive liner notes by Stéphane Lerouge.
LP with OBI strip, printed inner sleeve and liner notes.
