Edition of 100 numbered copies on orange vinyl. Hand-numbered (063) insert and postcard included.

The fifth full project by Mirror, the duo of Andrew Chalk and Christoph Heemann that ran from their first Ringstones LP in 1999 through the 2005 dissolution of the partnership. Nightwalkers appeared originally on Robot Records in 2000, and the later CD reissue (in digipak with reproduced artwork) brought the material back into circulation after the original had sold through.

For Nightwalkers the duo expanded to a trio, with Andreas Martin of H.N.A.S. and Mimir joining on guitar and other instruments. The resulting music is unusually adventurous even by Mirror standards: turbulent spacious explorations threaded with subtle rhythmic pulses, drone fields that seem simultaneously active and suspended in time. The darker, more hallucinogenic side of the Mirror catalogue, closer to the nocturnal cave of Eye of the Storm than to the pastoral drift of The View.

Mirror produced something in the order of a dozen releases in six years, initially in hand-made limited editions before receiving wider reissue. Nightwalkers sits near the middle of that arc, after the Chalk/Heemann dialogue had fully stabilised and before the late recordings drifted toward the more abstract late-period sound of Still Valley. One of the essential documents of that peak five-year window.
