William Parker as composer and lyricist: songs sung by Andrea Wolper with an inter-generational band, a title suite with tap dancer Melissa Almaguer, pieces for Chantal Akerman and Joseph Jarman. CD limited to 500 copies on Centering.

Waltz for Gregory, named after the tap dancer, singer and actor Gregory Hines, finds William Parker as composer, lyricist and producer, the role he took on the 2021 box Migration of Silence Into and Out of the Tone World and, before that, on Voices Fall From the Sky (2018).

The songs are sung by Andrea Wolper, who voiced Lights in the Rain within Migration of Silence, with Bruce Barth on piano, Jim Ferraiuolo on oboe and alto sax, Steve Swell on trombone, Ken Filiano on bass and Kevin Murray on drums, while the title suite features the young tap dancer Melissa Almaguer. There is also a ballad for the filmmaker Chantal Akerman, a piece for voice, piano and oboe dedicated to Joseph Jarman, and 'Ukraine', dedicated to the children of all wars.

Recorded on 26 December 2023 and mixed and mastered by Jim Clouse at Park West Studios in Brooklyn. Released by Centering Records (CENT1035) in a special edition of 500 CDs, deluxe six-panel digipak with liner notes and track annotations by Parker and paintings by Douglas Arnold.
