2024 Stock.  The album presents a deeply meditative world, resonating with the mysteries of India. When it comes to sarangi - a forgotten Indian instrument that has been overshadowed by the violin in terms of popularity and accessibility - nobody can compare to Ram Narayan. Both Ram's growth and the ragas performed on this CD are deeply emotional. Additionally, the tabla playing is both powerful and precise. To experience the ethereal sarangi sound, this is a must-have.

Ram Narayan (1927-) is a Hindustani classical musician from Mewar, India. He is known for popularizing the sarangi as a solo concert instrument. He worked as a music teacher and traveling musician before being hired by All India Radio as an accompanist in 1944. During his music career, he traveled around the world to perform, frequently with his older brother and tabla player Chatur Lal. In 2005, he was awarded the honor of Padma Vibhushan.

Suresh Talwalker (1948-) is a tabla player from Mumbai, India. He learned tabla from his father Dattatrey Talwalkar before studying under tabla players Pandharinath Nageshkar and Vinayakrao Ghangrekar. His style, which he uses to accompany classical musicians and dancers, is a mix of several stylistic schools. In 2013, he was awarded the Padma Shri.
