Gerardo Iacoucci studied at Berklee, founded the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio in Rome and was a jazz pianist of real standing; his library records, mostly for Deneb, are among the most sought-after in the field. Simbolismo psichedelico (1970) is the famous one: eleven cues that treat psychedelia as a clinical condition, Fantasmi lunari, Stress angoscioso, Psicopatologia, Claustrofobia, Ipnosi, with owl-call electronics, cascading keyboards and percussion attacks that owe more to free jazz than to the Beatles.
It was also pressed in France as Symbolisme psychédélique. This was Intervallo's first release, in 2015, an edition of 300, and it set the imprint's course. Remastered.
