Träd, Gräs Och Stenar (Trees, Grass and Stones) emerged in 1969 from the ashes of pioneering Swedish experimental groups Pärson Sound, International Harvester, and Harvester. Led by visionary guitarist Bo Anders Persson, the band became legends of the Swedish underground scene, creating what critics have described as "the planet's most hypnotic, moss-fragrant psychedelic trance rock."

The debut album captures the band at a pivotal moment in Swedish rock history. Formed in 1969, the group consisted of Bo Anders Persson (guitar, vocals), Arne Ericsson (keyboards, cello), Torbjörn Abelli (bass) and Thomas Mera Gartz (drums, vocals), focusing on improvisational, minimalist and trance-oriented performances. Originally issued on the Decibel label in Sweden in 1970, this was their first of three albums, a definitely more "rockist" continuation of the post-minimalist experiments of the earlier groups, but still with that undefinable Swedish underground feeling.

They sound like Can jamming with Neil Young covering a late period Velvet Underground song and occupy a sonic spot on the Venn diagram where the Grateful Dead's "Dark Star" meets Ornette Coleman, the Jesus & Mary Chain and Acid Mothers Temple. Jakob Sjöholm, the band's youngest original member who continues their legacy today as Träden, reflects on the album's enduring impact: "This record represents a moment when we were discovering what Swedish psychedelic rock could become.
