*50 copies limited edition* Watson was my Dog, we had him from a puppy, he chose us and can be heard through out these recordings. If you listen carefully you’ll hear him sniffing microphones, squeaking toys and barking in the garden. All caught whilst recording the different instruments that layers and weave themselves into the palettes that make the up the pieces. I even captured his breathing on my lap the last time he laid there.
Some of the recordings started life over 30 years ago and with sound sources from Athens, Berlin, Malmö and Portsmouth. I’ve placed memories of friends and times not forgotten into the music. I’m am so honoured and proud to be part of the Astra Solaria family and look forward to working with them more.
I also excitedly wait to buy what genius releases they will come up with next. That’s how a label should be!
The instruments and equipment used on these recordings is so immense, I will list just a few of my favourites, which seem to find their way onto everything. My beloved Metallophone, the huge battered Farfisa organ that lives in my garage, the Rickenbacker 12 string I got from my Wife, my collection of trusty old Moogerfoogers, my late Dads and Uncle Rons chunky old reel to reel tape machines that keep on going how ever much I abuse them. Plus all the various home made effects and instruments which clutter our house, sorry Lisa.
This album is dedicated to Watson who recently passed. With huge thanks to those who believe in me, Bernard, Nicolas, Takuma, Vasilis and Mat.
