Thirteen pieces from Eric Lunde's first decade, 1983-1991, from cassettes, 7-inches and live tapes, assembled by Joe Colley for his Povertech Industries in 1997. Original CD in digipak with booklet.

When You Wish Upon A Scar: Recordings 1983-1991 gathers thirteen pieces from the first decade of Eric Lunde, the American noise musician, poet and visual artist also known for his work with Boy Dirt Car. The CD was assembled by Joe Colley and released in 1997 on Povertech Industries, his Sacramento label, bringing together material that had been scattered across 7-inches, cassettes, compilations and live dates.

It opens with World's Fastest Tape Player, recorded live in 1987, and Fire Truck, from the soundtrack of a 1983 video. Aztalan and The Colorado Terrain Investigation come from his RRRecords 7-inches of 1988, three short pieces from the cassette Expositions Of The Virus (1988), Liberty Week End from the cassette Scramble (1987). Reading From "LLND" draws on his 1991 book of poetry and woodblock prints and was recorded live at Lower Links in Chicago with members of Fuckface. The 22-minute Tape Death Cut comes from a split LP on Complacency (1989), and the closing XCHDX-Partial Being / XCHDX Locked Groove from the Mjölnir cassette compilation on Cthulhu (1990) and an etched 12-inch on Alamut Records (1989).

Original 1997 CD in digipak with booklet, with block-print artwork by Lunde and photographs by Francis Ford, Julie Lindeman and Karl Ebert.
