* Edition of 500 * This is music from one of Basil Kirchin's most creative periods. Basil had finished his world tour of weird discovery, and came back to the UK to make, in his words, music for imaginary films. This is basically library music, but lead to quite a few original film compositions.
The music we are releasing here is Basil's work for the De Wolfe library, all from the 1966 period. Although you will imagine the music to be a little later, it's just that Basil is always a little ahead…

The duo creates a tapestry of syncopated movements where inorganic and tribal organic qualities, which are similar to minimal electroacoustics, intertwine in a dense way. ** Edition of 150 copies on risograph sleeves ** Dauw presents Great Prairie Plains: Studies of American Minimalism by Dylan Henner. The album starts with an arrangement of Terry Riley's In C. During his school-time, Henner was allowed by his music teacher - with plenty of persuasion, in an environment of mostly much straighter classical music - to study this piece. He not only had a deep familiarity with it, but also the pdf scores that he transcribed for his homework. The arrangement was creat…

* Limited edition of 250. In process of stocking * Their first album in over six years, "Seashells" is the 10th full-length record by Blanche Blanche Blanche (Zach Phillips and Sarah Smith). As "Blue" Gene Tyranny once wrote to BBB, "I really, really have been enjoying your albums. To me they are a pure modern bop style, but don't let me characterize your writing in any way. They are just quite wonderful. The ever-evolving disjunctive bop stimulates in my mind thoughts of hearing Lambert Hendrix…

He is la giusi, I am il piera. We'll explain why we have these nicknames another time. We started rehearsing in 1996. Three years and three recordings passed before we decided to release our first CD, "19 Calefactions" Takla Rec. Since then we have never stopped seeing each other and sharing experiences and paths. As a duo we have released three more works: "Due" Z.rec., "Big Margotta" Brokenresearch, and "Nel margine" Red Toucan. We have always liked trio collaborations and we have released the…
The sky goes on forever in Barry Walker Jr.’s Shoulda Zenith, and it’s crackling with unexpected lightning. The Tennessee-bred, Portland-based pedal steel master subverts his instrument’s tradition for lachrymose, innocuous Rootzak™. Instead, he ventures to outward-bound strata more frequently traversed by Sonny Sharrock than Gram Parsons. “So often, the pedal steel is used as a textural flavor,” Walker says, “but it really can breathe fire itself.” Evidence for that claim abounds on Shoulda Zen…
** 2021 Stock ** Pioneer Erkin Koray may have been the first Turkish rock artist, he and his band reputedly playing Fats Domino and Elvis covers in 1957; by combining rock ‘n’ roll and Turkish traditional music, he spearheaded Anatolian rock and became the leading Turkish psychedelic practitioner. East-west hybrid Elektronik Turkuler was an innovative concept album marrying rock with Turkish trad; in contrast, the 1976 release 2 is thoroughly grounded in Turkish traditional music, the understate…

Spring's music is notable for the use of the mellotron, with three of the its five members credited with playing that …

** Recycled Tape, Xeroxed Art, Limited Edition of 36 Numbered Copies ** In the last few years several italian artists started to go deeper in tape music exploration. That's the case of Rome-based Cristiano Carosi. Misure presents the introspective psychedelic side of it. A collage of different sources such as surreal words, altered voices coming from who knows where, and clumsy synthesis-produced sounds that melt down together in a juicy lo-fi sauce (remarked by the straight-on-cassette recordin…
