Orchestral (plus tape) and chamber music compostions from the 1960's and 70's by the Austrian avant-garde composer and founder of Austria's first electronic music studio, released on Preiser in 1978 and never re-issued on either CD or LP.

condition (record/cover): NM / EX- (minimal ring wear on back)

Helmut Eder, born in Linz in 1916, was one of the Austrian composers who opened the postwar scene to new techniques, electronic sound included. Cadunt umbrae (1973), for alto, tape and orchestra on a text collage by Rudolf Bayr, is sung by Ingrid Mayr with the Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg under the composer.

The rest is chamber and organ music: the violin Sonatine of 1963 played by Martin Mumelter, the wind quintet Septuagesima instrumentalis (1968 and 1969) by the Wiener Bläserquintett, and the organ chorale Nun danket all und bringet Ehr (1971) on a tune by Johann Crüger, played by Helga Klimetschek. Issued in the series of the Österreichischer Musikrat.
