"Dämmerung" is the second compilation release by Dark Awake, the first one being released in 2015. With a discography tens of releases in almost 20 years, the time is certainly ripe for the Greek project to release another one. Starting from 2013's "Soil, Blood ...And The Reaping Of Light" and proceeding all the way to 2024's "Archemoros", this tape is an authoritative slice-through of the Greek project's extensive back catalogue. The selection of eleven older tracks is completed by one previously unreleased, new track. 

"Dämmerung" presents the entire spectrum of Dark Awake's mysterious, epic and dark expression: powerful martial industrial, evocative neoclassical, ritualistic dark ambient and experimental electronica. Different eras and styles blend into each other seamlessly on the tape, compiled by Dark Awake's sole member Simon Shelmerdine himself.

Whilst musically not cut from one cloth, some things have remained constant throughout Dark Awake's prolific career. The esoteric the nature of the music, the aura of deep mystery, the veiled hints to eternal truths. Dark Awake's music reflects the concealed, occult undercurrents of European culture, philosophy and mythology. "Dämmerung" is testimony to the enduring nature of Dark Awake's music, drawing from these wells of perennial wisdom. As such, it is essential for both old and new listeners: to revisit, or to be introduced to the dark majesty of Dark Awake.
