Original 1980 US edition on Warner Bros. of the ground-breaking third Devo LP. With original innersleeve.

condition (record/cover): NM / VG+ (light wear) With original innersleeve. Winchester pressing with early label with light background and lines.  Original 1980 US pressing of the third album that broke Devo into the mainstream with "Whip It." But the album is far stranger than that hit suggests - synthesizers largely replace guitars, creating a cold electronic landscape that mirrors the songs' themes of conformity and control disguised as personal freedom. Mark Mothersbaugh and Gerald Casale's critique of American consumer culture reaches its sharpest here, wrapped in irresistibly catchy new wave pop. Songs like "Girl U Want" and "Gates of Steel" deconstruct rock conventions while remaining somehow danceable. The production is clean and robotic, every element precisely placed. Winchester pressing with early light background labels featuring distinctive line patterns. Original innersleeve included, some dirt on white cover areas that doesn't detract from the striking energy dome imagery.
