Field Studies is a series of soundworks, workshops, live concerts and audio releases focused on field recording, electronic and electro-acoustic music, curated by Glauco Salvo. Releases are available on cassette and digital download. Cassettes are carefully duplicated in real time on high quality tape (Recording the Masters Fox type I) with Nakamichi Dr-2 three head cassette decks, and they are available duplicated with Dolby B or with no noise reduction. The entire catalogue will be available as long as the project goes on. No limited editions.
Field Studies Vol.7 is a collection of eld recordings made during a four months residency at Zaratan Arte Contemporânea in Lisbon. The recordings took place in various spots of the riverside in the city of Lisbon and in Barreiro, and then they were treated with tape machines, distortion pedals and with superimposing electronic interventions. All the electronic sounds were generated with a DIY two panel Serge paperface modular synthesizer built during the residency, a machine with a unique sound and a design strongly encouraging intuition and experimentation.
Produced with the support of Zaratan Arte Contemporânea and Culture Moves Europe.
Recorded, edited and mixed by Glauco Salvo
Mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi
