Francis Paudras was a French commercial artist who befriended Bud Powell in Paris in the early sixties, took him into his home, kept him alive for several years, and recorded him constantly on domestic equipment: in clubs, in apartments, at the piano at three in the morning. The Mythic Sound series drew on that archive and on the Powell family's own holdings, and it remains the deepest documentation of the man's final decade in existence. Some of it is fragile, some of it is magnificent, and all of it is closer to Powell than any studio session ever got.

Complete run of ten LPs. The whole series together, which is how it was meant to be heard and how it almost never turns up.
