2020 release ** Limited edition of 200 copies. "Sound pulses and pale metallic clangs, thin percussive incisions, impalpable high notes broken by thundering and flaying industrial noises. This powerful work by Gianluca Becuzzi breaks down the barrier between the “inside” and the “outside”. As in the third law of correspondence what is above is below, what is below is above, the barriers are broken down, the rhythm deconstructs and annihilates, they are explosions of a Tancredi Parmeggiani with dark tones, of a Mark Rothko who paints with drones. Do not think of a simple recovery of tradition, a steep and elusive word, Becuzzi is within his time, our time, he incites it, surrounds it, devours it and gives it back to us. They are the witches of Macbeth who, rather, come towards us, read and judge, suggest to us and go away, show us the path that sound creates, that art, honest art, can show us. Officiating an ancestral and perfectly contemporary rite, the work, right from its title, In Between-in mezzo, gives us the identity card of this Ballardian priest of the music of the future. For the ex Limbo it is the encounter, in this work, with SunnO))) (listen to believe the very long track Aghartha From Monoliths & Dimensions from 2009), with Swans (listen to No Words No Thoughts from the live We Rose From Your Bed With The Sun In Our Head) and, I hope you will forgive me for the risk, also with the concrete music of Lionel Marchetti (the track Pètrole recorded with the Japanese Yoko Higashi came to mind). A powerful work, two CDs to be listened to as a nocturnal meditation, the titles are evocative as is the cavernous timbre of Becuzzi's voice, which opens the first track, Across The Mirror, which erupts from the misty intertwining of dark and obscure sounds, between the first David Tibet and the black hallucinations of Ulver."
