"For those of us who inhabit worlds that sit in-between other worlds, this music making thing can be strange. The work of Matt Rosner sits in parallel to that of my own. We have a shared expression and a continued practice in listening and looking. Images, landscapes and our surroundings are translated into sounds, emotions and feelings. They are often built in solitude and created through lost moments, captured air or fragmented tonalities that have run adrift in our subconscious. To put it simply, music just happens.

On Lost Meridians, traditional instrumentation is manipulated, twisted, stretched and weaved into endless webs. Recorded with whatever was at hand, like a phone or single mic, these short and sharp moments have been pushed far beyond their original convention. Sparkling highs and low sub sonics seem to linger throughout asking more questions than offering answers.

At its core, this is organic, albeit deconstructed and distressed. There is a density present, a thick and expansive sound, like it is somehow holding entire unknown constellations. The rural West Australian landscapes comes to the front throughout, reflecting entire regions unaffected by light pollution, or the expansive Indian ocean, buoyant, vast with its endlessly enveloping blues, greys and greens. This is music to pause to, this is music to slow down to, this is music to dream to. But mostly, this is music to remind us that sometimes the unexplained things around us are just as important as the things inside us." - Jonathan Wilson
