2023 Japanese CD re-issue with bonus track on Sony's "We Want Jazz" series of the 1968 album featuring Dave Holland, Ron Carter, Tony Williams, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. Still sealed with obi

condition (disc/cover): M / M (still sealed)

Obi included.

The moment the plug went in. Miles In The Sky is where Herbie Hancock sits down at a Fender Rhodes for the first time on a Miles Davis record and where George Benson turns up to play guitar on "Paraphernalia", and the whole texture of the second great quintet shifts underneath your feet. Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter and Tony Williams are still playing acoustic post-bop of extraordinary sophistication, but "Stuff" opens the album with a straight backbeat and eighteen minutes of vamp, and everything from In A Silent Way onward is visible from here.

Japanese Sony CD edition. The transitional record, and much better than transitional records usually are.
