*30 copies limited edition* Physical is excited to announce the release of (music for) A Thousand Ways to Run. This sonic journey brings together the eclectic talents of pianist Ben Kujawski, drummer Abigail Smith, and guitarist/harmonicist Justin Rhody, whose collaborations coalesce in a collection that blurs the lines between avant-jazz, experimental soundscapes, and evocative improvisation. Recorded in the intimate setting of Kujawski’s home studio in 2023, the album is an invitation to listeners to leave behind conventional roadmaps and embrace discovery through sound.

Drawing influence from free jazz, ambient minimalism, and the high desert atmosphere of their New Mexico base, (music for) A Thousand Ways to Run crafts a world where the unexpected is welcome and every track reveals new textures. Each piece offers a glimpse into risk-taking and reflection, referencing both restless motion and the urge to stay rooted—this unique duality runs through the entire project.

Designed for deep listening, the record is available as a limited edition 5” picture disc (edition of 30), digital download, and streaming via Physical Books & Media. Fans of adventurous instrumentation and boundary-pushing trio work will find much to explore in these tracks, which sit comfortably alongside the likes of RAIC, Sputnik Trio, and Patrick Shiroishi’s explorations of sonic space.
