Big tip!!! Firework Edition Records is proud to announce the release of a new 7-CD box documenting Lars-Gunnar Bodin's (1935-2021) musical and artistic output during the years 1960-1987. Apart from more than 8 hours of electroacoustic music and text-sound compositions, the box also features extensive documentary visual material, along with essays by Jesper Olsson, Sanne Krogh Groth, Leo Nilsson, Åke Parmerud, Svante Bodin, Charlotta Bodin och Axel Bodin

It is hard to give a picture of such a multifaceted artist and human being as Lars-Gunnar Bodin in only a few lines. He coined, together with Bengt Emil Johnson, the term text-sound composition in 1967, which put Sweden on the map among artists working in the borderland between electronic music and concrete poetry/sound poetry all over the world. He was an active member of Fylkingen since the 1960's, and its chairman from 1969 to 1972. During the early 1960's he participated in Fylkingen's concerts at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, collaborating with international figures such as John Cage and David Tudor. He was also one of those who during the first half of the 1960's actively worked for the founding of an electronic music studio in Sweden, which lead to the opening of EMS Stockholm in 1964, where he would also become studio director from 1979 to 1989.

As a composer, Bodin would become the most renowned representative of Swedish electroacoustic music internationally - thanks above all to his many outstanding works of course - but also as a commissioner of ICEM (International Confederation of Electroacoustic Music), the ISCM (International Society for Contemporary Music) and for many years of the festival of electroacoustic music in Bourges, France. Bodin was also a poet who would write several collections of poetry during his final years, and a visual artist who early on worked with computer graphics.

Aside from his numerous merits and achievements, Lars-Gunnar was at the same time an extraordinarily humble, friendly and generous person who would always welcome and encourage younger friends and colleagues in an amiable and unpretentious way.
