Edition of 250 numbered copies (this is 59/250).
With this lavish six-LP box, Vinyl-On-Demand launched its entire enterprise in 2004, and it could hardly have picked a more emblematic subject. Strudelsölle gathers the first six self-produced cassettes that Die Tödliche Doris released between 1980 and 1984, the long-unavailable documents of one of West Berlin's most uncompromising avant-garde groups, pressed to vinyl at last in a small numbered edition.
Across the set the band's whole anti-musical project unfolds: tape collage, found sound, deadpan provocation, the Geniale Dilletanten ethos in its purest form. A monument to the Berlin underground, and a cornerstone of any serious collector's shelf.
